Maine-ly New Hampshire Meet and Greet: Lamontagne

Downtown Portsmouth Businessman and City Councilor Ken Smith is continuing his series of Meet and Greets with politicians running for office in New Hampshire. This evening, Wednesday, May 26, he will be hosting U.S. Senate Candidate Ovide Lamontagne at the Maine-ly New Hampshire store. The informal gathering will begin at 5:30 pm, and participants will have the opportunity to hear from Ovide, as well as talk to him one-on-one about his candidacy and policy ambitions as a U.S. Senator.

Maine-ly New Hampshire is located at 22 Deer Street in Portsmouth. No RSVP needed.

We need your help on Market Square Day!

This year, the Portsmouth GOP will be hosting a booth at Portsmouth’s Market Square Day festivities on Saturday, June 12. We will be there all day telling people about the Portsmouth GOP club, and about the Republican candidates running for office this fall.

Here is where you come in: We need volunteers to help set up, man the booth, and clean up after the event. If you are already considering attending Market Square Day, why not stop by for an hour or two to help us out?

We need volunteers during the following times:

  • Setting up– 8:30 am  (two people needed to set up canopy)
  • Manning the booth–(at least  3 people from 9 am-12 noon, and at least 3 people from 12-3:30 pm)
  • Breaking down– 4:00 pm   (two people needed)

We would love to see many of you turn out for the event, either to volunteer your time or just to stop by our booth and say hello. This is your opportunity to show that Portsmouth has a vibrant Republican presence.

Community Conversations to Weigh the Benefits and Risks of Expanded Legal Gambling In NH

Like many states, New Hampshire faces some tough economic choices in the years ahead. One of these issues is whether to expand legalized gambling in New Hampshire.

On  February 13th,  2010, you as a NH citizen will have the opportunity to participate in community-based deliberations across the state to address the question: What’s At Stake: Community Conversations to Weigh the Benefits and Risks of Expanded Legal Gambling in NH. The Portsmouth meeting will be held from 9 am – 4 pm at the Portsmouth High School Cafeteria. Anyone is welcome to join in. Here is a chance to make your voice heard and to make a difference in the future of your state.

The results of the community conversations will be presented to the Governor’s Study Commission on Expanded Gaming in New Hampshire later this spring
