Monthly Meetings The Committee meets once a month at different locations around Portsmouth. Meetings consist of guest speakers, information on various campaign events and party activities, and time for socializing. Ward Captains The Committee is currently seeking interested and energetic individuals to serve as a ward captain for one of Portsmouth’s five wards. Among other duties, ward captains are responsible for keeping up with and reporting to the Committee on local issues important to their ward, recruiting candidates in their ward to run for local office, and organizing election day activities such as sign waving at the polls and poll monitoring.  If you are interested in serving as a ward captain for one of Portsmouth’s five wards, please send an email to portsrepublicans@aol.com Campaigns and Candidate Support One of the Committee’s primary goals is to support Republican candidates who run for local, state and federal office by conducting GOTV and other election support activities in the City of Portsmouth. The Committee provides regular updates to members on various local, state and federal campaigns that members can get involved in.
